Explain how to compare 3-digit numbers
Prompt PPJ-MTH-01256
🦉 Learn it
To compare two three-digit numbers, look at the hundreds first. More hundreds means a bigger number.
If the hundreds are the same, look at the tens. If the tens are the same too, look at the ones.
Never start with the ones. A number with big ones can still be smaller.
652 and 625
Hundreds: 6 and 6, the same.
Tens: 5 and 2. 5 tens is more.
So 652 is greater than 625.
